I forgot to move my elf!

It happens!  No need to panic, here are some ideas to handle it!

He likes his spot — if he’s in a really good spot to see you keep an eye on the kids

He took a break — he didn’t want to report bad behavior and is giving your kids an extra day to be good before reporting back to Santa.

He’s tired — if your kids had a bad day yesterday, he got too tired from watching the bad behavior and report it to Santa.

He heard someone get out of bed — Someone in the house woke up too early, and the elf had to freeze in place to avoid being seen!

Missed his alarm clock - must have forgotten to set his alarm clock and didn’t want to get caught moving!

He’s tired — all that traveling back and forth to the North Pole and working so hard these last few days before Christmas!

Internet Down - The elf couldn't upload their nightly report to Santa because the North Pole Wi-Fi was glitchy.

Elf and the Shelf Vibes - The shelf was just too comfy to leave, and the elf decided to take an extra rest day.

Needed a Hug - The elf decided to stay in place because someone in the family looked like they needed an extra sprinkle of holiday cheer right where they were.

For the Texas Trails edition, here are some additional ideas!

Too Much Tex-Mex - They couldn’t resist an extra serving of pretend tacos and queso and needed a food coma day.

Too Much Texas BBQ - The elf overindulged in some BBQ from last night's adventure and is too stuffed to move.

Stuck in a Boot-Scootin' Boogie - The elf was practicing their Texas two-step all night and got too tired to relocate!

Texas Rangers Training - The elf was brushing up on their skills to become an honorary member of the toy Texas Rangers and lost track of time.

Come up with an idea to require your kids to run back to their room, then grab your kit and set up the scene! Or take a few extra minutes when you’re heading out and your kids are in the car to move your elf!
